Nankai University, founded in 1904 and formally established in 1919, is a comprehensive university founded by Mr. Yan Xiu and Mr. Zhang Boling adhering to the idea of saving the nation through education. In 1937, the campus was destroyed by the Japanese Army, and the university moved to the south. In 1938, the university, together with Peking University and Tsinghua University, established National South-west Associated University in Kunming, Yunnan Province, making indelible and important contributions to the revitalization of the Chinese nation and the prosperity of the country. In 1946, he returned to Tianjin to resume the school and became a national university. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, it has undergone the adjustment of colleges and departments and become a national key university with equal emphasis on arts and science.
